Today was my last day of school for the semester. It was bittersweet.

To celebrate, I came home around four and took a two hour nap with RB, like I’ve been doing every day this week. He’s been working nights, so once I’m done with school I crawl into bed with him, curl up to his warmth and sleep. Being beside him makes me feel refreshed and safe. Being in his arms makes me feel protected and so very loved.

The way he always reaches for me, even if he’s half asleep. The way he looks at me, like I’m the only thing that matters. And like I’m beautiful.

The way he hugs me tight and tells me that he loves holding me close. The way he grins at me and only me and how it makes my heart soar.

The way he takes care of me and brings me things when I ask, makes me meals and puts up with my four-hour grocery shopping sessions. The way he surprises me with a drive to school every so often, so that I’m not stuck on the bus for an hour, bored.

The way he gets silly with me when I wake up after napping and fall into a serious giggle fit. The way he wrestles with me and tickles and pokes my ribs, even though I hate it.

The way he knows everything about everything and is always willing to teach me, help me and guide me.

It’s all in his way and I love him so much for everything he does. For himself, for me, for our future. I take our time together for granted sometimes but I really do realize how lucky I am to have found my soulmate, living just a street away, our whole lives. But he’s mine now and if I have any say in it, I’m keeping him forever.

P.S. Just to further clarify why I love him so much: we’re talking on MSN while he’s at work, it’s 3:20 a.m. and he’s telling me to blog about how much I love him because he’s there, thinking about making me breakfast in bed.
